Seeking chemist to develop the most precious drug in the world

Well, now that medicine has resolved a lot of major daily problems, such as baldness, impotence, size of breasts and wrinkles, what is the next frontier?

In my view it is time to tackle what really matters, what really can hurt: love.

It is kind of obvious that if someone truly invented a pill or a potion that could make another person fall in love with us, they would make good money.

But who wants to be loved by someone for fake, chemical reasons?

More importantly, the way to make real money goes in a different direction:  we need to invent a pill that makes us fall Out of love.

Great business, as when love is unrequited and / or hopeless or damaging we would pay a lot to get out, to remove the pain.

There is a rational foundation on the possibility to create such a product.

Apparently (I am not going to do a lot of research on this, so: apparently) when we fall in love with someone there are powerful neurological and chemical connections that are established within the brain.

More specifically, between the location of memory and the location of judgement.  In other words, if we fall in love with somebody we will always be drawn to positive thoughts about them, no matter what happens, no matter what the reality is.  These chemical bounds are so powerful that they create a distortion in reality.

So by attacking and removing these chemical links one could – in theory – make the patient fall out of love.

There are probably some rules that apply:  for example, you can only take these pills maximum twice in your life, so you have to be very careful when to pop one in.

I can imagine the small print inside the box of such precious medicine:

Better taken if you truly have no hope, as process is irreversible

  • Take if the other person does not love you back
  • Take if the other person loves you, but he/she does not value you or treats you meanly
  • Take if the other person loves you, treats you well but the relationship is destructive for both
  • Do NOT take if you are not in love (side effects include loss of memory of all your passwords, including that for facebook and Instagram)

Such a potent medicine will clearly have some repercussions that would have to be explored.  Would it work in such a way that simply the feelings about our beloved are removed, or will all memories associated with that person would be erased (some kind of mental shift+delete)?  Being irreversible, would it eliminate that one chance for paradise on earth?

Or more trivially, would it come in different favours:  strawberry, wine, chicken liver, coconut?  I take coconut…

And more importantly, would you really take one?  How about right now?

Qualified chemists interested in the development of the product can contact me privately, the idea has been patented so please do not try to make a business out of my idea…

  1. Ciao Bro,

I’m always amused by the way your brain is thinking somehow. Clear focus (despite the subject) is making some money out of it. Good.
It is actually somehow true that everything is related to chemical, but little is known as a matter of fact.

In the meanwhile I still believe that to forget one love, finding another one (even temporary) is a good medicine; friends, ice cream, a right booze can help as well.

I take the opportunity (why not) to ask anyone that would read this reply that the real mystery of life (God?) lies in the transformation from inorganic to organic such it happened on Earth a (uhm…not that sure) 2/3.500.000.000 years ago.

How is related to love? well they are both mysteries, aren’t they?

I can leave my name, due to privacy policy, but I’m his brother.

    Ciao Bro!!

  2. I “can’t” not “can”. My English is poor (sucks) and I don’t read my sentences after I write them

    1. Anonymous brother maybe one day we will find that the true force of the universe and the reason why inorganic became organic is the subatomical particle of love

  3. Ciao JC,

First of all, compliments to your blog I really love it and your articles are very thought-through and interesting to read.

On this anti-love-pill subject, I wonder why someone wants to fall out of love – isn´t it the most beautiful thing in the world to be in love? It is the most powerful feeling and it gives you power, like an energy booze.

Of course the best situation is when the one you love does love you back. If this is not the case, the feeling of being in love is still great! It gives you a reason to start the day, and puts you in a happier mood. It also reflects in your aura and makes you more attractive to other people, you “shine”.

In case you are bringing this anti-love-pill to the market, I will not buy it.

If you develop a falling-in-love-pill, let me know. I will be happy to be loved by someone, no matter for fake, chemical reasons or for my bad ass.

Love is always great, being loved is even greater!
